I don’t know about you, but the word “freedom” gets me excited! It’s so easy to get bound up and chained by the idols of this world. It’s even easier to place ourselves in bondage by the opinions and expectations of others. If we choose to see ourselves the way other people see us, or how we see ourselves, as opposed to how GOD sees us, we are in bondage.

Thanks to the Lord’s sacrifice, if we have acknowledged His lordship over our lives, we can see ourselves the way GOD sees us: forgiven, loved, and accepted: not because of anything we deserve or because of anything we earn through performance or works, but because a Holy, loving God carried the weight of our sin and took our place in death. Completely dependent upon Him (and NOT ourselves or anyone else in this world), we can be set free. Set free from the weight, bondage and penalty of sin! Set free from other peoples’ opinions and expectations! Set free from control and planning and worry! Simply set free!!
