hello friends and followers.
i will be taking a hiatus from blogging for an indefinite period of time to focus on different avenues God is calling me to pursue. i will only blog when something is laid on my heart that i feel led to share. it’s been nice talking to you through the information superhighway 🙂
“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.” – 1 Peter 1:2
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” – Psalm 23
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.” – 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
From now until Hannah Graham is found, alive or no longer with us anymore, I will simply post Bible verses here. I will spend my time reflecting and meditating on these verses day and night, and I hope you will do the same. Please continue to keep her and her family, and the families of all missing persons, in your prayers.
“The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.” – Exodus 15:2
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
Most of you just said that verse in your head along with me. It’s probably the most popular Bible verse ever! And rightly so! The Bible says God loved us so much that He gave His only son! This isn’t a new concept, but goodness, it’s so powerful.
Those of you with children: I want you to think about giving up your own son or daughter. For someone who is undeserving. Ungrateful. Someone who would make a million mistakes. Someone who would turn his/her back on you at times. Someone who would even potentially deny your existence!
What love! What great love! That God would give up His beloved. His cherished child. His very own son. I know I wouldn’t/couldn’t make such a selfless sacrifice. You likely wouldn’t either.
Think on this tonight. And then thank God for His unmatched kindness, grace, loyalty and love toward you!
“When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.” – Psalm 27:8
If only it were that simple! That’s what God asks us to do, though. To seek His face. What if we just followed that command? No matter the circumstances? First? Before we say “yes”? Before we say “no”? Before we take a trip? Before we get married? Before we change careers? Before we make any decisions?
It’s not going to be easy. But our lives will reflect what God has planned for us, instead of what we anxiously and perpetually plan for ourselves.
